About Speaker Cable Connection Methods
News

We sometimes receive inquiries from our valued customers such as:
・The sound has stopped working
・The left-right balance has become poor
・The sound spread feels weaker compared to before
・At the same volume setting, the sound feels quieter than before
and other similar concerns.

Of course, unexpected issues can sometimes occur that cause such symptoms, but in many cases, the cause is related to the cable connection method.

For example, with extended use, speaker cable screws may gradually loosen over time, weakening the contact between the terminal and cable.
For such cases, or when reconnecting after moving the equipment, we would like to share some important points to keep in mind when connecting speaker cables.

While this information is covered in our instruction manual, we would like to introduce it once again.

◆Speaker Cable Connection Method and Connection Precautions

①Turn the screw on the speaker terminal at the back of the unit counterclockwise until you can see the hole in the center of the screw.

②Insert only the copper wire portion at the tip of the speaker cable into the visible hole, then tighten the screw to secure the cable.

At this time, please insert the cable so that the vinyl insulation portion is not caught.
If the vinyl insulation portion gets caught, the audio signal transmitted through the cable may become unstable, potentially causing insufficient volume or noise generation.
Continued use in this condition may also cause speaker malfunction, so please be careful.
If the tightening is insufficient, the cable may fall out, so after tightening the screw to secure it, please gently pull the cable to confirm it won't come loose from the terminal.
※ Please take the same care when connecting cables to the amplifier side.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Article

How far should I loosen the screws when connecting the speaker cable?+
Turn the screws on the speaker terminals on the rear of the unit to the left, and loosen them until the hole in the center of each screw becomes visible. Insert the copper wire portion of the cable into that hole.
What problems can occur if the vinyl insulation gets caught when inserting the speaker cable?+
If the vinyl insulation becomes caught, the audio signal transmitted through the cable will become unstable, leading to insufficient volume and the generation of noise. Furthermore, continued use in this condition may cause damage to the speaker.
Is there a way to verify that the cable is properly connected after securing it to the terminal?+
After tightening the screw to secure the cable, gently tug on the cable to check that it does not pull out from the terminal. If the screw is not tightened sufficiently, the cable may come loose.
If the volume decreases or the sound dispersion weakens after extended use, what should I check first?+
Please check the connection status of the speaker cables. After prolonged use, the terminal screws may gradually loosen over time, and in many cases the cause is a weakened contact between the screws and the cables.
