Speakers Not Chosen by Ear: "Sound is More Than Just Listening"

The criteria for choosing speakers has traditionally focused on "sound quality" and "frequency characteristics" - essentially "impressions when listened to with the ear."
However, the "sound experience" we feel daily is intimately connected not just to our ears, but to many more of our senses.

For example, when playing music in a quiet room. When sound gently spreads throughout the space, we sometimes feel as if even the air in the room has become softer.
This is because sound envelops the entire space and "touches" us not only through our ears, but through our skin and entire body.

Sound should be delivered as a "field" rather than a "point."
Most conventional speakers are designed with "directional" characteristics. In other words, they are designed to deliver sound straight to a "narrow range," with a soundstage designed on the premise that you'll be seated directly in front of the speaker.
However, in actual living spaces, we don't often sit in the "best position" to listen to sound.

On the other hand, "omnidirectional speakers" like those from M's System are based on the concept of spreading sound throughout the entire space and creating a "field."
By spreading sound 360 degrees, you can experience being enveloped in uniform, gentle sound wherever you are in the room.

This "enveloping sound" works on all our senses - not just our ears, but as tactile sensations on our skin, body, and through the texture of the air itself.

Sound that touches the body - this can truly be called sound for QOL.
Our bodies sense "vibration" through various parts - skin, muscles, internal organs, and more.
Since sound is vibration in the air, we receive it not only through our ears, but also through tactile and proprioceptive senses.
This is precisely why sound quality naturally affects our mood, concentration, relaxation level, and even the depth of our sleep.
In other words, choosing speakers is also an important choice that affects our "QOL (Quality of Life)".

For instance, that one song you listen to at the end of a busy day.
The "enveloping sound" created by wave-motion speakers can calm your heartbeat, slow your breathing, and activate your parasympathetic nervous system - truly "air therapy."

Future speaker selection should be based not only on "how it sounds" but also "how it feels" as a new axis for choosing speakers.

Sound is not information, but environment. Sound is not BGM, but material that creates space.
"Speakers not chosen by ear alone"
This is a new way of relating to sound that enhances the quality of life itself.
